MALIBU, Calif. -- Top-ranked Pepperdine beat No. 2 Hawaii 24-30, 30-25, 30-25, 30-27 Saturday night in the championship match of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's volleyball tournament.
The victory earned the Waves an automatic berth in the four-team NCAA championships, which begin next Thursday at Penn State. The Warriors will learn Sunday if they will receive an at-large bid.
Lance Walker had 18 kills and Brad Keenan contributed four service aces for Pepperdine (28-4).
Costas Theocharidis led Hawaii with 17 kills as the Warriors dropped to 22-8. |
