Baseball America takes a look at how the Top 25 teams fared in the past week:

1. Miami
Last Week: 3-1.
Overall: 33-4, 17-2 in ACC. (2-1 vs. Top 25).
Weekend Series: 9-0.
Notes: The Hurricanes went into Tallahassee and took two out of three from the rival Seminoles to seize control of the ACC. Junior 2B Jemile Weeks (3-for-5, 2B, 2 RBI) singled to kick off Miami's 10-run sixth inning Friday, the first time the Canes have ever posted a double-figure inning against FSU. Three Miami relievers held the Seminoles to one hit over four scoreless innings in relief of freshman LHP Nick Hernandez (5 IP, 9 H, 4 ER). On Saturday, senior RHP Enrique Garcia (5.1 IP, 9 H, 6 ER, 3 BB, 5 K) failed to hold leads of 4-0 and 5-4, and the Hurricanes were held scoreless after the fourth. Junior 1B Yonder Alonso homered twice Sunday, including his first career grand slam, to help sophomore LHP Eric Erickson (4 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K) pick up the win in his first start since being sidelined with elbow soreness a month ago. Miami closer Carlos Gutierrez struck out Tyler Holt with the tying run on third base to end the travel curfew-shortened game.

Notes: Stanford went on the road and won its 11th straight weekend series to take a one-game lead over Arizona State and California in the Pac-10 at the halfway point of the conference schedule (no Pac-10 tournament). The Cardinal scored three in the first inning Friday, which was all the support necessary for junior RHP Austin Yount (4.2 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 ER) and two relievers. Senior DH Randy Molina's three-run homer highlighted a six-run fifth inning Saturday in support of senior RHP Erik Davis (9 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 13 K), who threw his fourth consecutive complete game and set a career high for strikeouts, the most by a Stanford pitcher since 2004. The Beavers took advantage of four ASU errors Saturday to beat senior LHP Josh Satow (4.1 IP, 5 H, 7 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 5 K), and the Sun Devils mustered just one run on three hits over the first six innings against OSU freshman Tanner Robles. Junior 3B Brett Wallace (3-for-5, 3 R, 5 RBI, HR) led a 12-hit, 13-walk attack Sunday as Arizona State held on to win a back-and-forth slugfest. Sophomore OF/RHP Blake Smith was one of eight Bears to record hits Sunday, and he picked up the win with two scoreless innings of relief, as Cal tied the game with four in the seventh and won it on Cooper's walk-off RBI single in the ninth. Cooper is batting .392/.484/.784 with 16 homers and 46 RBIs.

Freshman LHP Drew Pomeranz (6 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 5 BB, 5 K) and junior RHP Scott Bittle (3 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 5 K) stymied the Gamecocks on Saturday, and junior 3B Cody Overbeck (2-for-4, HR, 3 RBI) powered the Ole Miss offense. Overbeck's solo homer in the ninth Sunday was the only run the Rebels could manage against Blake Cooper, as junior RHP Cody Satterwhite (6 IP, 8 H, 4 ER, 5 BB, 4 K) fell to 3-3.
