OMAHA, Neb. (AP) _ Ryan Sears scored 25 points as Creighton handed Georgia State its first loss of the season 81-74 on Saturday.

Ben Walker added 17 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for the Bluejays. Terrell Taylor scored 15 and Kyle Korver added 14.

Creighton (5-2) doubled its six-point halftime lead with 3-pointers from Sears and Korver on its first two possessions of the second half.

After falling behind by 12, Georgia State (7-1) used a full-court press to force Creighton into six turnovers over the next four minutes, cutting its deficit to 44-43.

Shernard Long led the Panthers with 28 points despite spending the majority of the game in foul trouble. Thomas Terrell added 16 and Kevin Morris scored 11.

Creighton entered the bonus with 10:57 remaining in the game and secured the win by connecting on 13 of 17 free throw attempts in the second half.
