GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) _ David Schuck had 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead North Carolina-Greensboro to a 76-63 victory over Winthrop on Friday night.

Courtney Eldridge added 19 points for the Spartans (4-4), who trailed 36-29 early in the second half but used a 14-3 run midway through the period to pull away from the Eagles (5-6).

The decisive run was ignited by junior forward James Maye, who was playing for the first time this season after sitting out with a stress fracture in his right ankle.

With UNCG trailing 50-48 after an Anthony Moore layup with 11:25 left, Maye started the run with five straight points. The Spartans hit five of eight shots over the next six minutes, while Winthrop missed 11 straight.

Eldridge capped the run with a pair of free throws with 5:43 remaining to give the Spartans a 62-53 edge. Moore broke the Winthrop drought with a layup at the 5:17 mark.

Eldridge was 8-for-9 from the line and had eight assists. Jay Joseph also was in double figures with 10 points.

Marcus Stewart led Winthrop with 15 points. Roger Toxey had 13 and Derrick Knox finished with 10.
