Iona, which tied for the regular-season title with Niagara and Siena, captured the No. 1 seed for this week's conference tournament despite losing four of its last six games.

Three consecutive 3-point goals by Jackette capped a 16-0 scoring run and provided the Jaspers with a commanding 24-5 lead with 12:55 to go in the first half.

Jackette, second-leading scorer on the Manhattan team, hurt his left leg with 11:29 left and did not return.

The Jaspers, with seven 3-point goals, led 50-28 at halftime.

A basket and free throw by Miller cut it to 68-55 with 11:46 remaining, but Iona never got any closer.

Earl Johnson had 13 points and Dyree Wilson 12 for the Gaels.

The Jaspers will meet Niagara on Saturday in the MAAC quarterfinals, while Iona plays the winner of the Fairfield-Loyola, Md., game.
