JACKSON, Miss. (AP) _ Kendell Noel scored 20 points and missed just one shot as Jackson State defeated Alabama State 70-53 Thursday night. Noel was 7-for-8 from the field. John Chandler added 12 points, including four 3-pointers, for the Tigers (7-21, 7-10 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Joey Ball led Alabama State (18-8, 14-3) with 14 points and Tyrone Levett scored 12. Alabama State shot 38 percent. Jackson State held a 42-20 rebounding advantage and made 50 percent of its shots. Richard Bradley had eight points and 10 rebounds for the Tigers and Cliff Walker had eight points and nine rebounds.
