Southern Utah hires former BYU coach Reid

CEDAR CITY, Utah -- Southern Utah hired former Brigham Young coach Roger Reid to lead the Thunderbirds.

Reid replaces Bill Evans, who was let go last week after 15 years at Southern Utah.

Reid, who has spent the past two seasons at Snow College in Utah, coached BYU from 1989-1996, going 152-77. He reached 20 wins six times and took the Cougars to five NCAA Tournaments.
