Failed test costs Shaw senior season

LAS VEGAS -- Matt Shaw, who started 11 games for UNLV's NCAA tournament-qualifying 2009-10 team, tested positive for a banned substance and will miss his senior season, the school announced.

In an athletic department statement released Tuesday, the 6-foot-8 junior forward admitted failing a random drug test after the Rebels' first-round loss March 18 to Northern Iowa in Oklahoma City.
