COACH AND PROGRAM
For the last few years, there was an awful lot of branding involved with Missouri basketball. Reporters sat down at their seats for games and were greeted by placeholders welcoming them to "the fastest 40 minutes in basketball."
It was in the media guide, it was in the ads, it was in the press conferences. Missouri was fast. Missouri was exciting. Missouri was different. Missouri was difficult to prepare for.
And, for the most part, it was true. The Tigers were fast. They were different. You did not want to play them on a quick turnaround. The brand was real, but the basketball always left a little to be desired.
Coach Mike Anderson left for Arkansas after back-to-back 23-11 years, having gone 8-8 in Big 12 play his last season in Columbia, and he took his brand with him.
