Kansas State adds Chris Lowery

MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Kansas State men's basketball coach Bruce Weber hired Chris Lowery, who worked for him at Southern Illinois, as an assistant.

Lowery was 145-116 in eight seasons as head coach of Southern Illinois, where he was fired last month.

Kansas State said Thursday contract details are being finalized, but he'll earn a base salary of $210,000 for 2012-13. Lowery has worked in the past as an assistant to Weber, who calls him an outstanding recruiter.
