Baylor back for another run
Bears lose key players from Elite Eight team, but there's still talent in Waco
Leading up to Midnight Madness in October, ESPN Insider's "Countdown to Madness" series is previewing the top five seeds in each of the four regions in Joe Lunardi's preseason 2013 NCAA bracket. This is the entry for the Baylor Bears, No. 4 in the West (Los Angeles).
The key: Perimeter depth
Stat to know: 31.6 percent
If everything is bigger in Texas, Baylor certainly has played its part in helping that phrase stand up. The Bears have regularly rolled out NBA-sized frontcourts, including last season's 6-foot-7, 6-9 and 6-11 trio. But Quincy Acy, Quincy Miller and Perry Jones III, respectively, are all gone. So coach Scott Drew will likely go small in 2012-13, which makes sense, because for the first time in years, he's loaded with experience and talent in the backcourt.
