Canisius 72, St. Bonaventure 69

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Canisius rode Harold Washington's hot shooting to a 72-69 victory over St. Bonaventure on Saturday.

Canisius went ahead at 68-67 with 53 seconds left in the game on Chris Manhertz's tip-in, and held on for the victory.

Washington scored 23 points, hitting 7 of 14 from the field, 3 of 3 from 3-point range and 6 of 8 free throws for the Golden Griffins (2-0). Isaac Sosa chipped in 14 points.
