SAN DIEGO -- Chris Anderson scored 14 points to lead San Diego over Portland 61-50 Thursday night in the Western Conference opener for both teams.
Anderson was 4 of 8 from the field. Ken Rancifer added 10 points for the Toreros (8-8). Chris Manresa had nine points and 11 rebounds.
The score was tied at 27 at halftime in the game with eight lead changes. San Diego shot 40.8 percent from the field for the game, while Portland shot 35 percent.
