Bracket Projection: Creighton

The Creighton Bluejays enter the NCAAs with a 27-7 mark, including RPI-enhancing triumphs over power conference teams Wisconsin, Arizona State, Nebraska and Cal. In 6-foot-8 junior Doug McDermott, the Bluejays have a player capable of catching fire and carrying them to the Sweet 16. With four starters back from last year's NCAA tourney team, he won't have to do it by himself. What needs to happen for Creighton to provide some March magic?

Lunardi's Logic

The Bluejays are looking at a contrast in styles in Philly this weekend. If they can survive the meat grinder of Cincinnati, which I expect, look for a wildly fun game against Duke in round three. Doug McDermott will get his in that one, just as he did a year ago against North Carolina, but the Blue Devils have so many other weapons that it's hard to like Creighton to win more than once.

Best wins: Against Wisconsin and Arizona State in the Las Vegas Invitational, as well as Nebraska, Akron and California

Worst losses: At Drake, at Indiana State, at Illinois State, at Northern Iowa
