Houston's L.J. Rose granted waiver

The NCAA has granted former Baylor point guard L.J. Rose a waiver that will allow him to play immediately for Houston, Rose's father, Lynden, told ESPN.com on Tuesday.

Rose said in June that he transferred to his hometown school to be closer to his mother, Marilyn, who is stricken with lupus.

"Family has always been the most important thing to me," Rose said. "With my mother's situation (Houston) was the obvious choice."
