Keep kicked off team for breaking rules Associated Press STILLWATER, Okla. Oklahoma State reserve center Jason Keep is off the team for the rest of the season for breaking team rules, coach Eddie Sutton said. Keep did not make the trip to Uniondale, N.Y., where the Cowboys are playing in the NCAA East regional. Sutton said Keep's status would be evaluated after the season. The absence of Keep should not affect Oklahoma State in its first-round game against Southern California, associate head coach Sean Sutton said Wednesday. "I don't think it's really crossed our minds," he said. "USC's got a great front line and they're very powerful, but (Antoine) Broxsie and (Jack) Marlow have played as well in practice as Jason down the stretch. So I don't think it's going to be that big a factor." The 6-foot-10 Keep was suspended briefly earlier this year after an arrest for driving while intoxicated. He also was not allowed to return to the bench for the second half of a game because, Sutton said, he used profanity in the halftime dressing room. |
