Serbian forward is a freshman

TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Arizona Wildcats (No. 5 ESPN/USA Today, No. 7 AP) added some much-needed depth to their front line Saturday when Serbian forward Ivan Radenovic joined the team.

Radenovic, 6 foot 10 and 218 pounds, graduated from the
Secondary School of Sports in Belgrade, Sebria-Montenegro, in May
and played two seasons for the KK Partizan youth team.

The 19-year-old freshman will be eligible Dec. 28.

"He is fundamentally sound and has the skills to play both
inside and out," Arizona coach Lute Olson said. "He is a nice
addition and should help us immediately."

The Wildcats have been using essentially a six-man rotation
since reserve power forward Isaiah Fox went down with a
season-ending knee injury in the opener against Florida.

Radenovic will have to sit out Arizona's game Monday against San
Diego State because of an NCAA infraction involving his amateur
status. Last spring, he played two minutes in a pro contest.

Arizona and the NCAA determined that Radenovic's eligibility
would be restored after the one-game suspension.
