Horton turned himself in, Ann Arbor police Lt. Michael Logghe said.
Horton was released on $5,000 bond, court administrator Keith Zeisloft said, and will be allowed to leave the state to play basketball. If convicted of the misdemeanor charge, Horton could face up to three months in jail and a $500 fine.
Messages were left Monday with Michigan basketball coach Tommy Amaker.
Horton has been one of the Wolverines' best players the past three seasons. He had 16 points and five assists for the Wolverines (12-7) in a 72-61 loss to Wisconsin on Saturday.
Arizona: Coach Lute Olson and his
family are making a $1 million gift to the Arizona Cancer Center in
the name of his late wife, Bobbi.
The gift will benefit the Bobbi Olson Endowment for Ovarian
Cancer Research. The endowment is named for Olson's first wife,
Bobbi, who died of ovarian cancer on Jan. 1, 2001, after a 2½-year
battle with the disease. The endowment is designed to support
research for the prevention and cure of ovarian cancer.
"This gift is something the family has been planning for some
time," Olson said in a statement released by the university on
Monday. "We feel it's so important that Bobbi's legacy stay alive
and we continue to support her dream of finding a cure for this
The Olsons were married for 46 years. Bobbi Olson was a
prominent part of the Arizona basketball program her husband built
into a national powerhouse, befriending players, luring recruits
with pancake breakfasts and providing encouragement.
The court at McKale Center has been named Lute and Bobbi Olson
Martin, who saw action in just six games this season, averaged
2.2 points in his collegiate career. He made 42 shots from
3-point range in 72 career games.
The 6-6 Martin did not play in the Minutemen's 61-59 victory
over defending national champion Connecticut on Dec. 9.
