UCLA's Aboya has surgery, out a month

LOS ANGELES -- UCLA freshman swingman Alfred Aboya had left
knee arthroscopic surgery that will keep him out of practice for at
least a month.
The surgery last week at UCLA Medical Center was Aboya's second
since July, when he had loose cartilage removed from his right
Aboya's latest surgery was the result of a lateral meniscus tear
sustained during individual summer workouts.
"The repair to Alfred's left knee is less severe than his
right, so the rehabilitation time will be less," Bruins coach Ben
Howland said. "This will be a quicker healing process. It's all
good news, much better than expected."
The 6-foot-8, 242-pound Aboya is a native of Cameroon. He
attended prep school in New Hampshire the last two years.
