Tyndall takes over as head coach at his alma mater

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Middle Tennessee assistant Donnie Tyndall was hired Monday as head coach at Morehead State, his alma mater.

Tyndall replaces Kyle Macy, who went 106-144 in nine seasons. The Eagles finished 4-23 in 2005-06, one of the worst records in the nation.

"I have a passion for Morehead State, there's no doubt about it," Tyndall said at a news conference. "I've played here, graduated here. My blood, sweat and tears are on that floor and in that locker room."

Tyndall graduated from Morehead State in 1993. He previously served on John Brady's staff at LSU and worked an associate coach at Idaho.
