PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Jalen Cannon finished with 20 points on 10-of-12 shooting to lead three players in double-digit scoring as St. Francis (NY) beat Brown in overtime 76-72 Saturday in nonconference play.
Tied at 58, Cannon's jump shot with 1:12 left in the second half put St. Francis (2-2) on top 60-58.
Brown jumped out to a 64-63 lead halfway through overtime, but St. Francis would respond with an 8-0 run over the next two minutes to take the lead 71-64.
Sean McGonagill led Brown with 23 points, but recorded six turnovers.
Maryland point guard Melo Trimble, considered a lock to leave the program before struggling in the second half last season, has withdrawn from the NBA draft and will return for his junior season.
