COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Jud Dillard scored 23 points and Tennessee Tech nearly held one of the country's most touted big men without a field goal as Tennessee Tech topped Green Bay 74-68 Thursday night in a nonconference game.
Dillard was 8 of 8 from the free-throw line and also led the Golden Eagles (5-3) with six rebounds.
Green Bay's Alec Brown -- a 7-foot-1 NBA prospect -- was 1 for 5 from the floor, scoring a layup with 1 second left in the game. He finished with six points, four rebounds and four fouls in 22 minutes.
Dennis Ogbe hit a 3 to put Tennessee Tech ahead 39-38 21 seconds into the second half, sparking a 13-2 run.
Green Bay (3-5) tied the game twice after that, but never regained the lead. Lanerryl Johnson's layup put the Golden Eagles up 66-64 with 2:36 left and they closed on a 10-4 run.
Maryland point guard Melo Trimble, considered a lock to leave the program before struggling in the second half last season, has withdrawn from the NBA draft and will return for his junior season.
Louisville's Chinanu Onuaku, who recently underwent a medical procedure to correct a heart rhythm issue detected during the combine, will keep his name in the NBA draft pool.
Andrew White III will return to the Nebraska men's basketball team next season after removing his name from the NBA draft.
