NEW BRITAIN, Conn. -- Marcus Burton scored 18 points to lead Wagner to an 88-59 win over Central Connecticut State in their Northeast Conference opener Thursday night.
Wagner (7-7, 1-0) broke away late in the first half on a 12-2 run fueled entirely by 3-pointers, with Burton hitting two of them, to take a 48-32 lead into the break. The Seahawks continued to pull away, outscoring CCSU in the second half 40-27 to keep the game out of reach.
