SALT LAKE CITY -- Kyle Randall scored 13 points and Central Michigan survived a five-minute scoreless stretch near the end of the game, defeating Wright State 59-55 Wednesday at the Utah Thanksgiving Tournament.
The Chippewas (2-1) used an 8-0 run midway through the second half to build a 48-38 lead, and still led by 10 with 5:23 remaining. But Wright State (3-1) scored eight straight points, pulling within 57-55 when JT Yoho hit a layup with 27 seconds left.
Derrick Richardson Jr. hit two free throws with 4 seconds remaining to break the Chippewas' scoring drought and secure the victory.
Central Michigan was just 2 for 14 on 3-point attempts but outrebounded the Raiders 40-29.
