JACKSONVILLE, Ala. -- Patrick Miller scored 19 points, and Kellen Thornton and M.J. Rhett added double-doubles as Tennessee State won its fourth consecutive game, beating Jacksonville State 66-57 Saturday night to remain unbeaten in Ohio Valley Conference play.
The Tigers (9-7) are 3-0 in the OVC for the first time since the 1994-95 season, and they've won all four of their games since losing Robert Covington, their leading scorer, with a knee injury.
Rhett's 16 rebounds for the Tigers were a career best, and he scored 10 points. Thornton had 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Miller was 12-for-16 from the free-throw line, and the Tigers made 18 of 23 in the second half. They went more than 7 minutes without a basket until Thornton's dunk at the 2:01 mark, but stayed ahead with 12 free throws in that stretch.
