GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Trevis Simpson scored 19 points, and Derrell Armstrong finished with 16 points and nine rebounds to lead UNC Greensboro over Wofford 71-52 Wednesday night in a Southern Conference matchup.
Kelvin McNeil added 13 points for the UNC Greensboro (4-12, 2-3).
Ahead 28-27 at the 5:40 mark in the first half, UNC Greensboro closed out the period on a 15-3 run to take a 43-30 lead into halftime. Simpson led the Spartans with 12 points in the period.
UNC Greensboro made 50 percent (16 for 32) of its shots in the first half, compared to 35 percent (11 for 31) for Wofford.
Wofford (7-11, 1-4) never got within single digits in the second half.
The Spartans made 15 more free throws than Wofford, and outrebounded the Terriers 43-25.
