BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Raijon Kelly scored 25 points to help Samford split its season series with UNC Greensboro in a 75-71 victory Saturday night.
Samford (11-18, 9-7 Southern Conference) led 45-31 at halftime, but UNC Greensboro (8-19, 6-10) crept to within 72-71 on Kayel Locke's jumper with 17 seconds remaining. The Spartans fouled Kelly 4 seconds later, and Kelly hit both shots for a 74-71 spread.
Simpson paced the Spartans with 22 points, including 4-of-8 shooting from deep.
