WASHINGTON (AP)-- Courtland Freeman scored a career-high 21 points and Gerald Riley scored 17 as Georgetown beat Howard, 89-58, for the fifth straight time Saturday afternoon.

Georgetown (8-0) shot better than 61 percent from the floor in the first half to take a 50-21 half time lead. It was the best shooting percentage in a half for the Hoyas so far this season.

A big chunk of that percentage came during a 15-2 first-half run when Georgetown blew open an eight-point game with four layups, two jumpers and one of five Georgetown 3-pointers.

James Wilkinson scored 24 points to lead Howard (2-6).

Freeman, who also had six rebounds, scored 12 in the second half.

Brandon Bowman scored 16 points and Darrel Owens added a season-high 14 for the Hoyas.

Oluwaseye Aluko, who left the game in the first half because of a cut above his right eye, was the only other real source of offense for Howard as he returned to score 10 points.
