AUBURN, Ala. (AP) -- Brandon Robinson scored 20 points and Marco
Killingsworth added 16 to lead Auburn to a 78-60 victory over
Southern Mississippi Tuesday night.
The Golden Eagles led 31-30 at halftime, but lost their lead
after 10-0 run by Auburn in the starting minutes of the second
Robinson made a pair of 3-pointers to help the Tigers make a
29-6 run, giving Auburn a 59-37 lead with 9:32 remaining.
Carter hit four 3-pointers in less than three minutes to cut the
deficit to seven, but Southern Miss didn't get any closer.
The Tigers outscored Southern Miss 40-18 in the paint, and
gathered 24 points off the Golden Eagles' 17 turnovers.
Auburn has won 11 straight games in the Southern Miss Series.
The second annual Gavitt Tipoff Games, eight games between members of the Big East and Big Ten to be played Nov. 14-18, will feature Villanova at Purdue in the opener.
