COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Ticker) -- Six different players
scored during a huge second-half run as Texas
continued its dominance at Texas A&M with a 69-59 victory.
Kenton Paulino started the key 16-0 burst with a free throw and
Royal Ivey finished it with a jump shot as Texas (14-3, 5-1 Big
12) used its balance to turn a three-point deficit into a 59-46
lead with 8:11 remaining.The Longhorns had seven players score six points or more,
including Ivey, who finished with six, 10 rebounds and seven
assists. Reserves Brian Boddicker and Jason Klotz totaled 21
points.Paulino added 11 points for the Longhorns, who won their 10th
consecutive trip to College Station and have taken 20 of the
last 21 meetings overall. Texas is 6-0 at Reed Arena.Texas shot just 36 percent from the floor (24-of-66) but held
Texas A&M to 33 percent (17-of-51) and committed only six of the
game's 23 turnovers.Andy Slocum had eight points and 18 rebounds for the Aggies
(7-10, 0-6), who were just 19-of-31 from the free-throw line en
route to their sixth straight loss.
