    Northwestern St. 110, Lamar 97

    BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) -- Teddy Davis scored 37 points and had 17 rebounds as Lamar beat Northwestern State 110-97 on Saturday night.

    Gil Goodrich scored 27 points and Raymond Anthony added 24 as Lamar (9-12, 3-5 Southland), scored its most points in a conference game since 1980. Raymond hit six 3-pointers and had seven rebounds, five assists and three steals.

    Clifton Lee led Northwestern State (9-11, 6-3) with 29 points and 11 rebounds. Byron Allen added 19 points and nine rebounds. Tramaine Hancock had 16 points and seven rebounds, and Tyronn Mitchell had 13 points and had six steals.

    Lamar got off plenty of shots but struggled in the first half at 35 percent (18-of-52). But the Cardinals hit 62 percent in the second half (23-of-37).

    Davis was 13-of-20 from the field and 11-of-14 from the foul line.
