EL PASO, Texas (AP) -- Fili Rivera scored 13 of his 20 points in
the second half as Texas-El Paso beat Tulsa 78-66 Saturday night.
Rivera was 8-of-13 from the floor and had six rebounds and four
steals for UTEP (17-4, 8-3 WAC). Roy Smallwood added 16 points and
10 rebounds for the Miners.
UTEP led 41-33 at halftime, then Rivera scored eight points in a
12-2 run to open the second half. The Miners built the lead up to
57-37 midway through the half and were never threatened.
