CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Kim Ortega scored a career-high 22 points
Sunday to lead 22nd ranked TCU to a 100-91 victory over Charlotte
at Halton Arena.

Tiffany Evans added 20 points and Ebony Shaw had 18 for the Lady
Horned Frogs (20-4, 9-2). Sandora Irvin chipped in with 16 rebounds
and 12 points while Tracy Wynn had 10 points off the bench for TCU,
which has now won seven of its last eight games.

Charlotte (14-10, 7-4) had six players score in double digits
led by Andrea Daniels with 19. Pam Brown and Leslie Cook each had
16 points for the 49ers, and Monica League had 12.

Peaches Harris had 10 points to become just the 12th player in
Charlotte history to reach the 1,00-point plateau for her career.

Despite needing four overtimes to beat East Carolina 125-119 on
Friday night, TCU showed no signs of fatigue against the 49ers on
Sunday erasing a 53-51 halftime deficit with a 19-8 run to start
the second half. In fact, TCU repeated exploited Charlotte's
inability to get back on defense, leading to several easy layups in
the second half.

It was Ortega who buried the Niners for good, knocking home a
3-pointer from the top of the key with 3:04 left to play to give
TCU a 90-78 lead. Charlotte did not mount another challenge after

Charlotte, which had hit on 11 of 18 3-pointers in the first
half to stay close, managed just 4 of 15 in the second half.

TCU is now 18-1 when scoring more than 67 points in a game.
