SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- Blake Ahearn came off the bench and
scored 15 points to lead Southwest Missouri State to a 70-46 win
over Creighton Saturday.
After trading baskets at the start of the second half, Southwest
Missouri State (17-12, 9-8 in the Missouri Valley Conference) went
on a 22-2 run to go ahead 58-30 with 8:59 left.
For Creighton, once ranked No. 24 on the AP poll after opening
the season 12-0, Saturday's loss was its worst defeat of the season
and extended its losing streak to three, the longest streak since
Creighton lost four straight in the 1999-2000 season.
Southwest Missouri State shot 47 percent from the field on 24 of
51 while Creighton (19-7, 11-6) struggled with 30 percent from the
field on 11 of 44 while committing 20 turnovers.
