Brown 79, Binghamton 77

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Marcus Becker's tip-in of a missed
3-pointer at the buzzer lifted Brown to a 79-77 victory over
Binghamton on Friday night.

With the game tied at 77-77, Brown's defense forced a shot clock
violation, giving the Bears the ball with 28.7 seconds left.

Jason Forte drove the lane and kicked the ball out to Mark
McAndrew, who attempted a 3-pointer with 1.5 seconds remaining. As
the shot bounced off the rim, Becker tipped it in just before the
buzzer sounded, giving Brown the win.

Forte led Brown (2-4) with 22 points, all in the second half,
and Luke Ruscoe added 21 points.

Andre Heard led Binghamton (2-4) with 17 points, while Troy
Hailey added 16.

The lead changed 14 times in the second half. Both teams led by
as many as five points, with Binghamton holding a 60-55 lead with
7:57 remaining, and the Bears rallying to grab a 73-68 advantage
with 4:07 left on a 3-pointer by Mark MacDonald.

Binghamton went on a 7-2 run to take a 77-75 lead with 1:31
remaining on a Hailey jump shot. Brown tied the game with 1:07 to
play when Forte drove the lane for a layup.

Binghamton shot 62 percent from the field, connecting on 32 of
52 field goal attempts.
