UC Irvine 75, New Mexico State 62

IRVINE, Calif. (AP) -- Greg Ethington scored a game-high 19
points to lead UC Irvine to a 75-62 victory over New Mexico State
on Tuesday night.

Aaron Fitzgerald added 14 points and Ross Schraeder had 12
points for the Anteaters (5-2), who won their fourth consecutive

Freshman Josh Jenkins came off the bench to score 18 points for
the Aggies (3-7), who have lost five straight and seven of eight.
Antwan Alexander added 14 points.

Irvine made four of its first eight shots to build a 10-0 lead
with 3:12 gone.

New Mexico State did not score until Byron Davis made a
3-pointer 3:23 into the game.

Lawrence's lay-up 25 seconds into the second half narrowed the
Aggies' deficit to 43-36, but Fitzgerald and Darren Fells scored
four points apiece during an 8-0 run that gave the Anteaters a
51-36 lead with 16:44 to play.

Irvine extended its lead to 19 points with 5:27 left.

New Mexico State committed 23 turnovers, 13 in the second half.
