Rider 74, Pennsylvania 68 (OT)

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Jerry Johnson scored 23 points, including
eight in overtime, to lead Rider to a 74-68 victory over Penn on
Wednesday night.

Steve Castleberry had 15 points and Edwin Muniz and Terrance
Mouton had 10 each for the Broncos (8-5), who defeated the Quakers
for the second straight year to win their fourth in a row.

Jan Fikiel had a career-high 21 points and Tim Begley added 18
points and 10 rebounds for Penn (4-7), which lost its fifth
straight game.

Neither team had more than a five-point lead in regulation,
which ended 62-62 when Rider's Paul Johnson hit two free throws
with 1:30 to play.

Penn took a 68-67 lead on a 3-pointer by Ibby Jaaber with 2:42
left in overtime, but a put-back by Paul Johnson gave the Broncos a
69-68 edge. Jerry Johnson then scored five straight points, with
his two free throws with 29 seconds left sealing the victory.

Both teams struggled with their shooting in the first half,
which ended with Rider holding a 29-26 advantage. Rider connected
on only 10-of-27 shots in the half, while Penn was 10-of-31 and
committed 10 turnovers.
