MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- Mario Jointer scored 16 points and grabbed
nine rebounds to help lead South Alabama to a 73-64 victory over
New Mexico State on Saturday night.
Jointer made 5-of-14 shots, four of them 3-pointers, for South
Alabama, which shot 8-of-21 from behind the arc.
Richard Law added 15 points and Stephen Cowherd, who was perfect
in 10 free throw attempts, added 14. Brandon Gordon scored 10
points as the Jaguars (4-11, 1-3 Sun Belt Conference) held the
Aggies winless in the league.
The Jaguars shot 21-of-28 from the foul line, and hit 40 percent
of their shots overall.
Maryland point guard Melo Trimble, considered a lock to leave the program before struggling in the second half last season, has withdrawn from the NBA draft and will return for his junior season.
Louisville's Chinanu Onuaku, who recently underwent a medical procedure to correct a heart rhythm issue detected during the combine, will keep his name in the NBA draft pool.
Andrew White III will return to the Nebraska men's basketball team next season after removing his name from the NBA draft.
