FRESNO, Calif. (AP) -- Michael Harris scored 22 of his 30 points
in the second half to help Rice beat Fresno State 76-68 Monday
Brock Gillespie added 15 points and Jason McKrieth scored 14 for
the Owls (14-10, 8-6 Western Athletic Conference). Rice moved a
half-game ahead of the Bulldogs and into a tie with Louisiana Tech
for third place in the conference.
The game featured 17 lead changes and six ties as Rice topped
Fresno State for the fourth straight time and sixth time in the
past seven meetings between the teams.
Trailing 61-56, the Owls outscored the Bulldogs 18-7 in the
final six minutes to win the game.
Rice outrebounded Fresno State 42-29, including 18-11 on the
offensive glass. The Owls also outscored the Bulldogs 32-12 in the
