PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Richard Roby scored 22 points and Chris Copeland added 20 as Colorado pulled away in the second half and defeated Penn 78-60 Tuesday night.

Roby hit five of 10 shots, plus four of four from 3-point range, while Copeland was 7-for-11 and made two of four from beyond the arc.

Colorado (3-1) used a distinct height advantage to out-rebound the Quakers 50-28, and made 16 of 20 free throws.

Ibrahim Jaaber had 16 points and Steve Danley had 14 for Penn (2-1), which was 10-for-21 on foul shots.

The Buffalos trailed by 10 points midway through the first half but, led by Roby, rallied to tie the score 37-37 at halftime.

Colorado led 52-46 with 12:50 to play and went on a 14-3 run, capped by a 3-pointer by Andy Osborn, to take its biggest lead, 64-49, with 5:35 to play.

Two straight layups by Mark Zoller cut the lead to 71-53, but the Quakers never got closer than 13 points.

It was only the second meeting between the two schools, with Colorado an 80-57 winner in Boulder in 2003.
