FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) -- Jai Lewis had a season-high 24 points and nine rebounds to lead George Mason to an 81-69 victory over Radford on Saturday.

The Patriots (5-3) took a 41-33 halftime advantage and opened the second half with a 9-0 run en route to their fourth win in five games. The Highlanders fell to 6-4 in the first contest between the schools since 1993.

George Mason worked the ball inside early to the 6-foot-7, 275-pound Lewis, then turned to Folarin Campbell (19 points) when Lewis was forced to the bench midway through the first half after picking up his second foul. Lewis and Campbell combined to score 20 of the Patriots' first 21 points.

George Mason shot 56 percent from the field largely because of its ability to get high-percentage shots inside, finishing with a 40-18 scoring advantage over the Highlanders in the paint.

Lamar Butler added 15 points on three 3-pointers. Tony Skinn, George Mason's leading scorer, was held scoreless in the first half and finished with six points.

Chris Oliver led Radford with 24 points and 10 rebounds. The Highlanders' leading-scorer, Whit Holcomb-Faye, who entered ranked 11th nationally averaging 23.3 points, scored 20 points on 4-of-17 shooting.
