Pepperdine went on a 14-8 run over the game's final 3:46,
including 7-of-12 from the foul line, in winning for the first time
on the road in seven games this season.
The Waves (3-7) held a 48-32 rebounding edge and limited UNLV to
34 percent shooting, 24 percent in the first half.
UNLV cut the deficit to four points midway through the second
half, going on a 14-6 run to trail 47-43 with 11:32 to play. But
Pepperdine scored the next eight points and eventually built the
lead to 60-47 at the 6:22 mark.
Pepperdine went on a 9-1 run over the final 3:12 of the first
half and were up 31-24 at halftime.
UNLV (4-6) got 10 points each from Wink Adams, Jason Petrimoulx
and Wendell White. Louis Amundson, who leads the Rebels in scoring
and rebounding, fouled out with six minutes to play, after scoring
seven points and grabbing eight rebounds.
