MURRAY, Ky. (AP) -- Tyler Holloway came off the bench to score a
career-high 16 points as Murray State broke away in the second half
to beat Austin Peay 67-56 Thursday night.
The score was tied seven times and there were nine lead changes
in the first half as the two teams went into halftime tied at 30.
With Austin Peay (9-6, 4-3 Ohio Valley Conference) up 34-33 with
18:32 left in the game, Murray State (10-4, 7-1) scored 14 straight
to take the lead for good.
Holloway and Justin Orr combined for 24 of the Racers' 37
second-half points and seven of their team's nine 3-pointers for
the game. Shawn Witherspoon, the leading rebounder in the OVC,
notched his fourth double-double of the season for Murray State
with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Purdue coach Matt Painter says players haven't used the fifth-year graduate transfer rule for its true intent.
The dust has settled after players made their NBA draft decisions. Which college teams won? Which lost? Well, Villanova is pretty happy. USC, meanwhile, might not be as thrilled.
The 2017 recruiting class is short on point guards, with Trevon Duval leading only eight prospects from the ESPN 60 who are still available.
