LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- Jaycee Carroll scored 14 points to lead Utah State to a 64-55 victory over Louisiana Tech Wednesday night.

Cass Matheus scored 12 and got four blocks for USU (12-4, 4-2 Western Athletic Conference), and Nate Harris scored 13 points. Matheus and Harris shot 11-of-13, all from short range.

The Bulldogs (11-7, 4-1) were led by Paul Millsap with 20 points and 17 rebounds. Millsap came into the game leading the nation in rebounding (12.5) and second in the WAC in scoring (20.8).

David Pak dropped in four critical free throws for USU during the final minute, two coming after a steal by Chaz Spicer as Louisiana Tech was scrambling to get off a quick shot. Another steal led to a dunk by Matheus as the final horn sounded.

After trailing by 14 late in the first half, the Bulldogs went on a 17-2 run, extending into the second half, and took the lead at 36-35 on a steal and layin by Millsap at the 16:57 mark.

With less than two minutes gone in the second half, Louisiana Tech lost its starting point guard when Daevon Haskins was called for his fourth foul and then was whistled for a technical foul, forcing his exit.

During the first five minutes of the game, LA Tech shot 1-of-12, while USU made three of its first six shots and took an early lead. USU led by double digits for much of the first half, before the Bulldogs scored the last eight points of the half, giving USU a 33-27 lead at halftime.
