Youngblood leads Kent State past Butler in overtime

KENT, Ohio (AP) -- Jay Youngblood scored 25 points and made a
jumper that put Kent State ahead to stay in overtime Saturday,
leading the Golden Flashes to an 80-76 victory over Butler.

Kent State (19-7) rallied from a nine-point deficit in the
second half, sending it to overtime on DeAndre Haynes' 3-pointer
with 6 seconds left in regulation. The Golden Flashes have won six
of their last seven games.

Youngblood's jumper broke the game's 11th and final tie in
overtime, putting Kent State ahead 76-74 with 1:06 left. Haynes
followed with a pair of free throws for a four-point lead that held

Butler (17-10) took the lead early in the second half and
stretched it to 55-46 on Brandon Polk's layup with 6:48 left in
regulation, but couldn't hold on. Five Bulldogs scored in double
figures, led by Polk with 21 points. Avery Sheets and A.J. Graves
added 13 points apiece.

Mike Scott had 17 points and 14 rebounds for Kent State, which
shot 55 percent from the field and went 18-of-23 on free throws.
