DAYTON, Ohio (AP) -- Brian Roberts scored 29 points and Marcus
Johnson had 23 to lead Dayton to a 78-62 victory over Austin Peay
in the season opener for both teams Saturday.
The Flyers' two starting guards did the bulk of the shooting for
Dayton. Roberts was 8-of-12 from the field and 9-of-9 at the line.
Johnson was 8-of-14 and 4-of-7.
Dayton got the lead for good on a jumper by Johnson at 14:47 in
the first half, and the Flyers built an 18-point lead before Austin
Peay trimmed it to 41-33 at halftime.
A 15-3 run to start the second half, capped by Johnson's
3-pointer with 15:39 to play, gave Dayton a 20-point lead, and
Austin Peay never got closer than 11 after that.
