Southern Utah 74, Denver 68

DENVER (AP) -- Nurudeen Adepoju scored 19 points to lead Southern
Utah to a 74-68 win over Denver in the Pioneers' home opener
Tuesday night.

Denver (0-2) was able to cut a 15 point second half Southern
Utah lead down to five with 1:36 left in the game, but the
Thunderbirds made 7-of-8 free throws with just over a minute
remaining to seal the win.

Guard DaShawn Walker scored a career high 27 points to lead
Denver in scoring.

Denver led 16-10 in the first half before Southern Utah (2-0)
went on an 11-0 run to take a 21-16 lead with just under 10 minutes
left in the half.

Southern Utah led 31-27 at the break.
