HOUSTON (AP) -- Chris Moore scored 22 points and had 11 rebounds
to lead Texas Southern to a 66-62 victory over Huston-Tillotson on
Moore hit 9-of-16 from the field and 4-of-5 free throws. Nick
Walker added 12 points and Michael Drewy came off the bench to
score 12 for Texas Southern (1-3).
Texas Southern led 41-20 at the half but shot only 29 percent in
the second half while Huston-Tillotson whittled away at the lead by
shooting 44 percent from the field.
K.C. Asomugha hit a 3-pointer with 24 seconds left to cut the
margin to 63-60. Texas Southern answered with a free throw by Nick
Walker and two free throws by Sollie Norwood for the final score.
Colorado State graduate transfer John Gillon has chosen Syracuse, giving the Orange a potential starter at point guard entering the 2016-17 season.
DeSean Murray, who averaged 20.2 points as a sophomore at Presbyterian, will transfer to Auburn to play for coach Bruce Pearl.
