Howard 75, St. Francis, Pa. 69

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Eugene Myatt scored 15 points, and Will Gant hit a crucial 3-pointer with 35 seconds left, to lead Howard to a 75-69 victory over St. Francis, Pa., on Monday night.

Gant sank a 21-footer from the left wing on Jeron Smth's kickout, giving the Bison a 71-69 lead. Smith and Myatt each sank a pair of free throws in the final seconds as Howard preserved its second consecutive win.

Darryl Hudson added 17 points for the Bison (3-3).

Devin Sweetney tied a career-high with 20 points for the Red Flash (2-2), which lost its second straight contest and first road game of the season. J.R. Enright tied a career-high 19 points, but fouled out with 5:15 to play. Cale Nelson set a career high with nine assists, all in the first half, and hit two free throws late to put St. Francis up 69-68.

The Red Flash took its first second-half lead after an 8-0 run, capped by Sweetney's two free throws to make it 59-58. There were seven lead changes after that.

The Bison took a 39-35 lead into halftime on Hudson's 10 first-half points, including a 15-footer just before the buzzer.

Howard forced 18 St. Francis turnovers and committed just 13.
