Florida International 61, Denver 59

MIAMI (AP) -- Cedric Essola led Florida International with 12 points in its 61-59 win over Denver on Saturday.

The win let the Golden Panthers (7-10, 2-5 Sun Belt Conference) snap a five-game losing streak.

Tyler Bullock led all scorers with 16 points for the Pioneers, and DaShawn Walker had 13 for Denver (2-15, 1-6).

The Golden Panthers led 29-21 at the break and led by as many as 13 points during the game, but Denver fought back. The Pioneers tied the score at 41-41 and the lead went back and forth for several minutes before FIU was able to hold on for the win.
